Since the removal of exemptions for all funds to submit annual financial statements changes have been made to the submission format during 2007 and 2008. The declaration made by the Boards of funds in the annual financial statements carries a large liability for these Boards. Included in all fund's operations should be ways of mitigating these risks.

Greg Preston has 29 years experience in fund administration and financials with a cross section of fund administrators operating in the SA market. Greg manages the Surplus Apportionment section of FQ Financial Skills and lectures on fund financials to managers and trustees.

Course Presenter-Tim Fearnhead
Tim Fearnhead is a Chartered Accountant and a former partner at Deloitte for 21 years. He joined Nedbank in 1997 where he held a number of senior financial positions in the Bank and completed a Diploma in Advanced Banking in 2002. He is now a Consultant with BDO Spencer Steward Financial Services (Gauteng) Pty Ltd, which is an alliance-training partner of The SA Institute of Chartered Accountants. Tim has a passion for teaching and developing people and has extensive experience in training financial management .
Course Presenter-Mike Melvill
Mike Melvill is imminently qualified to speak about investment costs having been involved in analysis, software, management, strategic advice on complex aspects of investments both in South Africa and London where he was the partner in charge of Holt Value Associates LP. Mike returned to South Africa in 2002 where he currently pursues his career in software development, management of private investments and strategic advice to companies.
