The FST team is a nationwide team, servicing clients from across the country and internationally. However, our current hubs are Johannesburg and Cape Town.

As a trainee, you join the Chartered Accountants Medical Aid Fund (CAMAF) and group life cover. Above that, there is also an opportunity to join the provident fund. These benefits are offered as part of your CTC.

We are currently looking for students that have studied degrees in the technology space such as information systems, informatics, information technology and computer science. If your degree isn’t on this list but you believe you’ll be a good fit. Apply anyway and include a cover letter with your CV, describing why you believe that you will be a good fit. Financial Services is a Business Line within BDO that caters specifically to clients operating within Financial Services. Financial Services Technology (FST) is a team of Technologists working within the Financial Services Business Line. We work together with other professionals (Including Financial Auditors, Regulatory Auditors, IFRS Professionals & Special Valuations Professionals) to provide Audit, Advisory and Digital services to clients within financial services.

IT Auditors works alongside financial audit teams in testing and reviewing a client's financial system. An IT auditor helps the audit teams assess and identify possible risks within a system and provides assurance to the audit team that the client’s technology operates as expected.

This is market related. However, we are competitive.

The nature of our work means that there’s generally no single answer to this question. Depending on the engagement you’re working on, your day can look very different to your peers within the team. We believe that the best way to learn & grow is to constantly be exposed to the client and the more experienced team members within FST. This means that on the days where you aren’t working from home, you will be with the team at the client.
