Candice Wernick , Assistant Financial Planner

“Initially I had no idea what I wanted to study at University, but I chose Finance to give me a variety of career paths to choose from. In my third year I grew obsessed with financial planning and knew that was the career I wanted to pursue. I love the interaction with people from all walks of life and the ability to equip them to be able to make wise financial decisions.”

Candice entered the industry in January 2018, working in the retirement planning space. In that year she gained valuable insight into the importance of effective retirement planning as well as the way in which various financial service providers operate. Candice dealt mainly in the passive investment space and has been involved in many discussions around the active versus passive investment debate.

Candice joined BDO in February 2019. She graduated from The University of Johannesburg in 2017. She passed her Certified Financial Planner® competency exam during 2018 and is working to gain her experience to become a Certified Financial Planner. Candice has expanded her knowledge across a range of personal financial planning disciplines during her short time as a trainee.

Candice is passionate about giving clients the tools to manage and understand their own finances.
