Experience

Japie completed his LLB degree in 2007 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2009. He specialised in commercial litigation, family law etc. He has gained extensive B-BBEE knowledge and experience in the past nine years, as a verification analyst, technical signatory and consultant. He completed his MDP B-BBEE in 2016.

He was a B-BBEE Verification analyst with AQRate Gauteng and with Premier Verification as well as a SANAS Technical Signatory for Premier Verification from 2016 to February 2017. He was also the Business Development Manager and Gauteng Head of B-BBEE for the Siyaya Skills Institute (an EOH subsidiary) from March 2017 to July 2018.

Since August 2018, Japie has headed up the Gauteng operations of BDO Verification Services and was appointed to the board of directors in March 2020 as an executive director in the portfolio of Commercial Director.

With his strong technical background, analytical and interpersonal skills and years of experience in the field, he is considered one of the foremost experts in the industry.
