Lisa Griffiths, RFP®, Financial Planner

“I went to work at a bank when I left school because I was good at maths. I grew in that role, progressing through all the departments and also giving financial advice. I then left to start my own business, a personal tax consultancy and tax advisory. My late husband joined me, and we successfully grew the business until it had a staff of about 12. He sadly died from cancer when I was 33. I later decided to focus on the aspect of the business I found must rewarding – financial planning. With tax and financial planning, the process is all about building relationships. We deal with confidential, rather personal information, and trust is crucial to both. However, I found financial planning a more efficient use of time. I’m able to provide more service and help more people. That has been my focus ever since I joined BDO. I’ve learned that customers are looking for a partner with whom they can walk their financial path through life, and I’m proud to be that partner for my clients.”
