Richard Warren-Tangney

Experience

Richard is a Partner in Financial Services at BDO. He has a wealth of experience within the financial service sector across both external and internal audit and Africa. More recently he was the Chief Audit Executive for the Sasfin Group.

Within the financial services sector, his focus areas have been banking (more specifically retail and commercial/ business banking) and investment banking. He has a keen interest in technology and while at Sasfin Group he re-implemented their audit management tool and introduced robotic auditing in the Human Capital and Group Finance areas.

He is committed to the development of young people within our profession and has acted as training officer for one of our larger competitors, as well as reinvigorating the CA(SA) training programme at Sasfin. During his time owning his own business he provided consulting services across his passion for human capital, the accounting profession and financial services. He has provided research and education services to both SAICA and the IRBA.
