Soné Kock

Experience

Soné is a qualified Chartered Accountant with twenty years of auditing experience. She articled with PKF in Johannesburg, after which she left to work in the UK for a period where she worked for a competition in their Financial Services office in London. Sone returned to PKF Johannesburg in 2003 as an audit manager. She did a short stint in commerce as a Financial Manager at Hollard but returned to her passion in auditing to join PKF as an audit partner.

PKF merged with Grant Thornton Johannesburg in 2013 and thereafter merged with BDO in 2018. During her time as a partner, Soné has served as a member of the Group Governance Board at Grant Thornton Johannesburg and was Head of the Outsourcing Division. She is currently a member of the BDO audit management committee in the Johannesburg office and is a member of the BDO Consumer Markets sector team.

Soné’s experience as an audit partner comes from servicing a wide range of clients, including financial services (short and long-term insurers, asset managers and private equity investments), as well as clients in manufacturing, retail and healthcare. Soné is a JSE-accredited auditor and has experience across several JSE-listed entities. She is and experienced in dealing with group reporting and the associated tight reporting deadlines.
