Fraud alert: person falsely claiming to represent BDO Forensics

BDO South Africa has been made aware of a suspected fraud involving an individual falsely claiming to represent BDO South Africa’s Forensics department.

The individual is contacting people who may have lost investments through online trading or investment platforms and is using BDO-branded letterheads and stationery to claim that BDO can recover or secure repayment of their lost funds.

BDO South Africa is not associated with this individual, the communications or any such investment recovery activity.

Members of the public are urged not to engage with the individual, make any payments or share personal information. Any communication claiming to be from BDO South Africa should be independently verified through official BDO South Africa contact channels.
