International IFRS Resource

BDO IFR Advisory, our global IFRS technical advisory group, is led from London in the UK, with centres in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.  Members of this group are seconded to it from BDO member firms, some for periods of up to two years with others on longer term secondments.

BDO IFR Advisory is an internal technical IFRS resource available to all BDO member firms worldwide.

Its activities include dealing with complex and contentious IFRS technical questions, developing BDO’s global positions on the interpretation and application of IFRS, issuing a range of IFRS technical bulletins and publications, developing and maintaining a suite of training material, and liaising with accounting standard setters, regulators and other organisations in respect of IFRS.

BDO’s global IFRS Policy Committee is a subcommittee of BDO IFR Advisory.  The IFRS Policy Committee has 20 members, who are senior technical accounting partners and members of staff at a range of BDO member firms worldwide.  It formulates policies in respect of IFRS and approves BDO’s global positions on the interpretation and application of IFRS, and responses to proposals issued by the International Accounting Standards Board and the IFRS Interpretations Committee.  Members are actively involved in the promotion of the consistent interpretation and application of IFRS within the international BDO network.
