Obakeng Motlhamme  

Obakeng is an Audit Manager within BDO’s Financial Services division with more than 5 years experience.  He has been instrumental in supporting the implementation and audit of IFRS 17 for two life insurance entities, gaining extensive experience in insurance contract accounting, financial reporting, and disclosure requirements. He has served as Audit Manager on a range of life and non-life insurance engagements, leading audit teams and overseeing complex insurance accounting and regulatory reporting matters.

Obakeng's experience extends to various regulatory assurance engagements, including Group and Solo Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs), regulatory agreed-upon procedures, and reviews of compliance with insurance regulatory requirements. Through these engagements, he has developed a strong understanding of insurance operations, financial reporting frameworks, regulatory reporting processes, governance structures, and risk management practices within the insurance sector.
