Serena is a respected Audit Partner with more than 40 years of professional experience gained across a broad range of industries and complex business environments. Her career includes 13 years with a big four firm before joining Grant Thornton in 1997, where she was admitted as a partner within the same year. Throughout her career, Serena has combined strong technical expertise with strategic leadership. She previously served as Chairperson of Grant Thornton’s Group Governance Board and was a member of the Audit Division Management Committee, contributing to the governance, growth, and leadership of the audit practice. Up until the end of her tenure in 2025, she was also a member of the BDO Oversight Committee. These roles provided her with extensive exposure to large and complex organisations across the insurance, banking, retail, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Serena leads major audit engagements, bringing significant experience in overseeing large local and multinational groups with both inbound and outbound reporting requirements. She has successfully managed audits for listed and privately held entities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality assurance services across complex reporting structures.

Serena’s sector expertise spans financial services, insurance, manufacturing, FMCG, food production, retail, and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs). She is particularly recognized for her ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, provide pragmatic insights to boards and audit committees, and build long-term trusted client relationships.

Was the signing engagement partner for Transpaco Ltd with multiple subsidiaries. Was responsible as a manager to manage the audits of Liberty, Sage Life and African Life which had multiple subsidiaries.
