BDO SA Partners to Sleep on the Streets in Support of Homelessness

17 April 2015

Johannesburg. BDO South Africa, a leading mid-size audit, advisory and tax firm, has announced their support as the accounting and auditing partner to the 2015 702 and Sun International CEO Sleepout™.

The CEO Sleepout™ is a global event, the South African leg of which will be held on Thursday 18th June in Gwen Lane, Sandton, next to the JSE. Participants sleep out on one of the longest and coldest nights of the year, raising much-needed awareness, support and funding for organisations that support the homeless, specifically homeless children and disadvantaged youth.

The managing partners of BDO's four offices will take up the challenge and sleep on the street for a night, along with other executives from corporate South Africa.

"The CEO Sleepout™ is a natural fit for BDO as it aligns very closely to our brand values and our personal approach to business – if it matters to you, it matters to us," says Bert Lopes, managing partner of BDO Johannesburg.

"We are also proud to support our client Girls & Boys Town as the chosen beneficiary partner and we share their vision "Youth, families and communities; South Africa's strength and future". If we do not give hope to our youth, the future is bleak for all of us.

"By partnering with The CEO Sleepout™ we know we can make a real difference in the lives of young people who need help to realise their hopes and dreams."
