Experience

Cézanne is a Director in BDO South Africa’s Financial Services Advisory practice, with more than 19 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She specialises in banking regulatory compliance and has extensive experience advising financial institutions on the Banks Act, Mutual Banks Act, Basel III, Bank Regulations, corporate governance, RDARR, ICAAP, Pillar 3 and regulatory reporting.

She began her career at KPMG in 2003, where she worked with banks and mutual banks on banking licence applications, regulatory compliance and DI Returns. Her combination of regulatory expertise and SQL knowledge also enabled her to play an integral role in BA automation projects.

From 2020 to 2023, Cézanne was involved in establishing a foreign bank branch in South Africa, serving as Head of Finance and Accounting and Regulatory Reporting. At BDO, she leads Financial Regulation and Compliance Services, advising local and mutual banks, foreign subsidiaries, representative offices and branches of foreign banks on navigating South Africa’s evolving regulatory environment.
