Experience
Heemal is a Partner at BDO South Africa and the former National Head of Audit. He completed his articles at BDO Johannesburg before undertaking a secondment to the United States in 2005. On his return to South Africa, he was promoted to Audit Manager and was appointed Audit Partner in 2009.
Heemal has extensive experience leading audits of large private companies as well as companies listed on the JSE. His involvement in large and complex assignments has also given him significant experience in cross-border engagements.
He works with clients across a broad range of industries, including media and telecommunications, automotive, real estate, hospitality and manufacturing. His experience across listed, private and international businesses enables him to bring a broad commercial and audit perspective to his client engagements.
