Executive summary

Experience

Kevin has over 15 years of actuarial experience predominantly in the South African short-term insurance industry with a range of both consulting and corporate experience. He has also provided actuarial services for some other African markets. Kevin has been involved in providing traditional actuarial services relating to financial and regulatory reporting throughout his career so far. He has specialised in insurance and reinsurance capital management as well as technical actuarial reserving across all 3 lines of defence by leading over 30 1st line actuarial reserve valuations, supporting the delivery of Head of Actuarial Function related reviews as well as performing several external audit reviews. Kevin has also gained extensive experience in IFRS 17 and pricing. 

Kevin has a Practising Certificate, which means that he is appropriate to act in the role of the Head of the Actuarial Function of a Short-Term Insurer.

Kevin’s business, consulting and softer skills have developed throughout his career. He has learnt to tailor his messaging when dealing with various stakeholders including senior management as well as Actuarial, Audit, Risk and Board Committees.

From a personal point of view, Kevin prides himself on being professional and always acting with integrity.
