Experience

Nico is the IT Operations & Security Director at BDO South Africa, with over 20 years’ experience in IT operations, security and service management.

He is responsible for the firm’s IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud platforms and end-user services, as well as security governance and the Information Security Management System (ISMS). His experience includes Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Nico has led a number of firm-wide initiatives, including merger integration, cloud transformation and mobile workforce enablement. He has also driven BDO South Africa’s ISO 27001 programme, achieving certification under both the 2013 and 2022 standards, with full national coverage.
