“During my studies I developed a special interest for financial planning and investment management. The reason being is that I perceive both disciplines to be concerned with building and maintaining relationships and strategies in order to experience success. I was especially fascinated with the strategies financial planners and fund managers used to adapt to changes in consumers’ expectations and needs and how they maintain ethical in such rigorous environments. Therefore, this is why I am currently studying my Masters in Investment Management in order to combine it with the knowledge I obtained during my Honours in Financial Planning.
Ultimately, I want to use all the knowledge that I have and the knowledge that I will still achieve and combine it in such a way that I provide an educational financial service to clients in the future. I want to enable clients to understand how money works and how they can make it work for themselves. Financial illiteracy is extremely high in South Africa and if I could educate my future clients into understanding that they need to save for a sustainable financial future – I would feel extremely accomplished.”
