It is always said that you find a job, but a career finds you. That has been the case with me. Post Matriculation, I studied Financial Information Systems which is a fusion of Information Technology, Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting and Financial Accounting. I saw myself at that time as someone who will assist Financial Institutions to remodel the way they serve and deliver solutions to customers through technological solutions and advancements. The universe had other ideas. When I started my career in 2007 in the retirement funds industry, I did not envision that I would be adding so much value to people’s lives. I have through the years assisted those corporates I have been fortunate to work for, in really focussing on customer centricity. My Service Charter involves not only making customers the centre of how I serve but to recognise that a customer is the centre of how I serve. My fulfilment is achieved in seeing this personal service charter succeed where I see among others, members retiring comfortably, dependants getting their proceeds fairly and equitably in death of main members, the ‘AHA’ moments in member’s faces through my Member Education interventions. This is why I wake up in the morning and proudly wear the BDO Employee Benefit uniform.
I started my career at the Metal Industries Benefit Fund Administrators (MIBFA) as a Withdrawals Claims Clerk in 2007. I then joined the JD Group as an Employee Benefits Administrator, specialising in retirement funds and medical aid administration. In 2014, I joined Alexander Forbes as an Employee Benefits Administrator for 2 years. In 2016, I moved to Retirement Funds Consulting as an Associate Consultant. In November 2018, I joined EOH Advisory services following which I subsequently joined BDO Employee Benefits in November 2019.
I have a passion in all aspects of Retirement Fund Consulting, Retirement fund law and Corporate Risk benefits Consulting.
