PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CONFIDENTIALITY 

BDO Wealth Advisers only allows access to your personal information for the purpose of rendering a service to you. We will not release any of your personal information to any party outside the BDO group unless it is for the purpose of delivering our agreed services to you.

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires us to inform you what personal information we collect from you, how we use your personal information and to whom we disclose your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and will ensure that your personal information is used appropriately, transparently and according to applicable law.

A copy of the detailed processes we have adopted regarding POPIA, together with privacy policy, can be requested via our website (www.bdowealth.co.za).

 

COMPLAINTS AND ALLEGATIONS

Any complaint, concern, or allegation relating to the conduct, performance, or delivery of this engagement, or any matter arising therefrom, must be submitted directly to BDO’s Chief Executive Officer. BDO maintains a formal process for the receipt and handling of complaints and allegations, and escalation to the Chief Executive Officer ensures that such matters are addressed with the appropriate level of independence, oversight, and confidentiality.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST 

BDO Wealth Advisers places a high priority on our Client’s best interests. We subscribe and adhere to the regulatory principles of ‘treating customers fairly’. We maintain a Conflicts of Interest Management Policy, a copy of which can be obtained from our website (www.bdowealth.co.za), or requested from our Practice Manager. The basis of our policy is to identify, disclose and manage any possible conflicts of interest that may arise within or between any of BDO Wealth Advisers subsidiaries or associated companies.

BDO Wealth Advisers receives fees, commission included, from product providers. All fees, and/or commissions payable will be disclosed to you before entering into a transaction.

BDO Wealth Advisers does not hold shares or have any substantial financial interest in any of the product providers that we have terms of business with.

Further, no product provider holds shares in BDO Wealth Advisers.

BDO Wealth Advisers is however associated with the following group of companies with whom we have referral or distribution agreements: BDO Employee Benefits (Pty) Ltd (FSP number 15751) and Celerity Investments (Pty) Ltd (FSP number 47650).

BDO Wealth Advisers therefore has an indirect financial interest in any product recommended or service rendered on behalf of the abovementioned associated companies.

BDO Wealth Advisers will only recommend products or services by associated companies to clients in instances where such products or services are in the best interests of the Client.
