Anton Kriel

Experience

Anton joined the firm in November 1996, as Tax Manager and was appointed to Director in 2002.

He started his career in Tax in 1990 at the Receiver of Revenue in Cape Town, where he gained valuable experience in Value Added Tax and later Corporate Tax. He was instrumental in the development and expansion of the taxation services offering at BDO Cape Town.

Anton is currently the Head of Taxation Compliance Services in Cape Town.

He also advises on a broad range of tax topics and his specialist areas include corporate tax, value added tax, capital gains tax, taxation for high net worth individuals and trust taxation.

Anton has been involved in and advised on numerous significant transactions, due diligence assignments, tax structuring of major acquisitions and mergers and structuring of inward investments.

His practical understanding of the legal and accounting issues of 3transactions, is a significant added benefit to his specialist tax expertise. This, together with his practical approach to problem-solving adds substantial value to clients.
