Theunis Schoeman

Experience

Theunis is a partner in the IFRS Technical division at BDO South Africa. He obtained his honours degree in commerce from the Rand Afrikaans University in 1997 and passed the final qualifying exam for chartered accountants in March 1998, achieving 7th place in the country. Theunis served articles with Fisher Hoffman PKF and on completion in 2001, started the firm's technical department. In 2006 he was appointed as a partner and continued in this role through various mergers.

He is actively involved in consulting with clients on IFRS application matters and provides regular training to clients and staff.

He represents BDO South Africa on the BDO International IFRS Working Party who provides guidance and publications to the International BDO firm.
