Experience

Yandeya Mahlaule is the Head of EQR within the audit department at BDO. Quality is one of the key focuses at BDO. Yandeya brings a mass of experience and knowledge to the firm through her work at the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors (IRBA).

Where she spent just over 5 years and moved through the rands from Inspector to Senior Quality Controller. Her time at the IRBA included the performance of audit and accounting related quality reviews in line with Auditing Standards (ISA), IFRS (and related accounting frameworks), IRBA Code, Companies Act and all other applicable regulatory, professional, and quality control standards.

She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than a decade of post articles experience. She started her career in financial reporting while working at BMW South Africa and Electronic Media Network (MNET). Her passion and love for auditing lead her back to Deloitte as an Audit Manager where she was involved in external audit engagements and her outstanding leadership skills resulted in an accelerated promotion to Senior Audit Manager. Yandeya also has international work experience where she has, amongst others, audited a company listed on the NYSE in the United States of America, as well as a local manufacturing company in Botswana.

Her experience in both the financial reporting and auditing space has contributed to her knowledge and commitment to audit quality across numerous industries and sectors.

Yandeya’s sector experience includes retail, manufacturing, investment and service.
